Humanity to Others Through Music of the World
ABOUT
Christine Vaindirlis was born in London, grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and at seventeen, moved to Milan, Italy to pursue her passion for music. She was awarded a full scholarship to train as an opera singer at the Conservatorio di Milano Guiseppe Verdi while working in the corporate world. She then decided to audition for Berklee World Scholarship Tour Auditions and was endowed the Berklee College of Music Achievement Scholarship, that took her to Boston, MA..
After graduating in 2004, a college ambassador with The Solo & Ensemble Award for Outstanding Musicianship and a Dual Bachelor of Music Cum Laude in Composition, Arranging and Production, and Performance as a Voice principal, she moved to NYC, the cultural melting pot and music Mecca of the world to work at a commercial and sound design music production house, while pursuing her career as a recording artist and a Tour Manager for Telarc Recording Artist, Hiromi. Christine self-produced her first commercially released album in 2009, “Dance Mama!” which encompassed everything she had envisioned; the essence and energy of her dearly missed South Africa enriched by the reflection of where life had taken her and the Berklee experience that had pushed her envelope further.
The cost of sustaining a career as an independent artist, led to the pursuit of other avenues of income utilizing her past experience from the corporate world together with her well-versed musical background, touring experience and the jack-of-all-trades she had grown to become in the music industry. Ubuntu World Music (humanity to others through the music of the world), the name she had been operating under since 2008, became an artist service company providing a full Tour Management and Artist Support role, to more established world-class touring acts, from advancing tour dates, touring planning, scheduling & logistics and production management, to artist management and support. Some of her current and past clients include Samara Joy, Bria Skonberg, Sofia Rei, Monty Alexander, Hiromi, Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, to name a few.
Today Christine continues to work as a consultant, a production manager, tour coordinator and planner as well as a design, music, audio and video creative. From time to time, she offers tailor made tours of her favorite places in New York City to show off its' vibrant neighborhoods and thriving music scene, this incredible city that has embraced her and has become her home.
